This month’s HOPE’S HAPPENINGS is made possible by Ralph and Sharlie Mullin.
Several families have given money to pay for the printing and mailing of our
newsletter for the coming months and we thank them for their support: Ralph
and Sharlie Mullin, Dale and Lisa Deahn, Bob and Margie Webster, Lynn and Carolyn
Fiegl.
“Warm up America Program” On the bulletin board near the office
there is an article about the Craft Yarn Council looking for afghans for their,
“Warm Up America” program. They require 49 rectangles measuring
7”X9”, either knitted or crocheted. If you can help out by making
some rectangles, perhaps we can have a “put together” party when
we get 49 pieces. Also please note that smaller, baby afghans are needed too.
If you have a question, please speak with Judy Strobele.

Dear Pastor Kattermann,
Your message in “Hope’s Happenings” this month has brought
to mind for us what receiving it all these years has meant to us.
First of all-we have been uplifted and encouraged time after time by your column
to the people of Hope. During times when we were without a Pastor (which have
been many) it was so important to know how constant things were at Hope –
and especially, knowing you were still at the helm, so to speak. We rejoiced
with the congregation over the joys and accomplishments-and carried the concerns
in our prayers.
The newsletter has kept us informed of illnesses of “old” friends
there as well as the births, deaths, etc.
We have always felt like “Special” rather than “former”.
For that we Thank you all. We have continually mentioned to friends here over
the years about Hope sending the Newsletter “after all these years”-such
a special thing for us!
We consider it a real honor to sponsor a months Newsletter. Please find our
check enclosed with our Sincere Thanks for all the previous received.
“Hope Lutheran – a Family of Caring” says it all.
With Love,
Carolyn (Fiegl)

Dear Friends at Hope,
Thank you all so much for your cards, your phone calls and especially your prayers.
You have shown that Hope is a true family! It is indeed a privilege to know
your love and to receive strength from your caring.
Thank you all for being there for us.
Love,
Sharlene
On February 13th, Sydney Judith, daughter of Michael and Tricia (Raiser) Schrock became a child of God through the Sacrament of Holy Baptism. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to guide Sydney and her family in the coming years. Sydney’s godparents are Kristen Raiser and James Schrock.
We sincerely thank Dave North, Gary Rung and Brian Smith for helping out with our Shrove Tuesday and Ash Wednesday worship services while Pastor was away. Thanks also to all of the men who prepared and served our Shrove Tuesday meal: Brian Smith, Gary Rung, Dave North, Geoff Milks, Len Dressel, Al Boldt and Guy Sisson.
BAKE SALE
On Sunday, March 20th, Thrivent and the Stewardship Committee are sponsoring
a Bake Sale. The funds raised will
be matched by Thrivent and used for current bills. If you are not able to bake
or purchase baked goods, monetary donations to the bake sale will also be matched.
Thank you in advance for your support.
On Palm Sunday, March 20th, at 7:00pm the Pioneer Association of Churches will
be presenting their annual Cantata at the First Baptist Church in Arcade. Anyone
who enjoys singing is invited to be a part of this group. The rehearsals will
be held on Sunday, March 6th and 13th from 2:00-4. There will be a reception
following and each church is asked to furnish six dozen cookies.
THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME ON SHROVE TUESDAY
To the men of Hope,
THANK YOU FOR…..
the good food, the fellowship, the thoughtfulness, the message – both
written and oral, and for an enjoyable Shrove Tuesday. Keep up the good work
and Keep smiling!!!
Your friend, Judy S.
If you would like to place a flower in the church sanctuary for Easter, you may do so by filling out an order blank. Blanks are on the desk near the entry door and should be returned to the church office by March 15th.
