Hope Nursery School is committed to serving children of families in our congregation and the surrounding communities in an environment of care and love.  Our preschool program will promote growth in each child within his/her own capabilities.  We encourage growth in these areas: intellectual, emotional, spiritual, and physical.  Hope offers quality Christian care in a safe and wholesome environment to the young children of our community.  We believe the Christian oriented focus makes our preschool one with an important difference.

3 Year Old Program

    The main focus for our three year old class is growing in social maturity. There is plenty of time for academic mastery later. If a child has a sense of well-being with his peers and practices social rules, he has a very important building block to academic success. It is our goal to encourage these qualities.
  We endeavor to provide a stimulating environment for your child. There are many activities in which they can be involved. We have many readiness areas that stimulate a child's imagination and strengthen their coordination. Following the same routine each week promotes security. We practice social skills continually; sharing, taking turns, cooperation, listening quietly when someone else is talking, following directions, and being considerate of other's feelings. We try to show a loving acceptance for each child to foster self-esteem and a sense of worth.  

4 Year Old Program

   An important aspect of our four year old program is developing character. We try to help the children learn about themselves, develop their self-esteem, shape positive attitudes toward life and recognize the importance of working cooperatively with others - teachers, as well as other children. We continually strive to improve "work habits" - being attentive, sharing, listening, following directions, taking turns, showing initiative, understanding and practicing good health habits, just to name a few.
   We are constantly encouraging individual choices, growth in self-control and personal skills (such as cutting, gluing numbers, colors, tracing, recognizing and printing their own name), interaction with other children and continual exposure to learning experiences, both new and old ones!  We do not teach the children specific tasks (such as saying ABC's, tying shoes, counting to 20 etc.), but they are exposed to these and other academic skills, many times and in many ways throughout the year.
