* The men's and women's fellowship breakfasts are held once a month for Bible study and fellowship. Join in - get involved! * There are many ways to get involved with and support our school. Check the school support page or call the school office for details. * Weekly labor is needed to help maintain the grounds of our campus mainly from Spring into Fall. If you have time once a week to help cut grass and generally maintain the outdoor areas, we could use your help! Please call the church office at 216-531-1136 or email churchoffice@stjohnnottingham.org. * VBS takes place each July, please call the church office at 216-531-1136 or email churchoffice@stjohnnottingham.org to volunteer. * St. John Nottingham is an active member of the Collinwood Church Council which operates two hunger centers, located at the Immanuel Presbyterian and Nottingham Methodist Churches, and a meals program two days a week at the Salvation Army. We are looking for volunteers in all three centers. If you are able to help even a couple of hours a week at any of these places or if you would like further information, please contact the church office at 216-531-1156. * The choir and bell choir start new seasons around September or October. Returning and new members are always welcome. * The altar guild has rotating groups which help to decorate and beautify the altar and the church. * Voters meetings are only 3 times a year, in January, May, and November. Come to find out what interesting things are being done at St. John, what important issues are facing the congregation, updates on the business and budget status of the congregation, and vote on any matters needing congregational approval. * The Board of Directors and School Board operate the church and school and meet monthly for updates and to handle current issues. Positions are regularly open for appointment by the boards or election to the boards. Contact the church office to see if there are any vacancies. Voters elect half of the Board of Directors each year in November. * The school has had reading programs for senior adults to read to the children. Contact the school office for details. * Like to cook or bake? Look for news of the next coffee hour, potluck dinner, or pancake breakfast. * St. John participates in the Euclid Church League. High school age and older men compete in basketball, softball and volleyball. Women also participate in volleyball (and a few in the softball league). See euclidchurchleague.org for details or call Walter Dill at 440-585-0329. * There are opportunities to be involved in the worship service through regular attendance, ushering, or reading the Scripture lessons. * Be a part of the evangelism and social ministry commission and plan special events at St. John. * Support youth group activities or attend if you are around high school age. The parish education commission also works with pastor to present special learning opportunities or show films like 'Luther' or 'The Passion of the Christ'. * There are more events and activities in the calendar, too. Consider adding your talents or supporting some of the iniatitives above - enjoy the fellowship. We encourage you to participate and look forward to seeing you! 7 You must each make up your own mind as to how much you should give. Don't give reluctantly or in response to pressure. For God loves the person who gives cheerfully. 8 And God will generously provide all you need. Then you will always have everything you need and plenty left over to share with others. 9 As the Scriptures say, "Godly people give generously to the poor. Their good deeds will never be forgotten." 2 Corinthians 9:7-9 (NLT) |
