Alumni Association News
Dear Alumni and Friends of St. Paul Lutheran School:
Our 114th academic year is off to a good start. Our enrollment is 144,
our highest in decades and two students more than what is supposed to be our
capacity. Our faculty remains intact. Three of our teachers are graduates
of our school. The Lord has been very good to us.
We continue to thank God for all of the members of the alumni
association. Your generosity and words of encouragement mean far more than
you probably realize.

Alumni News
We received a gift of $100 from Mr. and Mrs. James Bercos in memory of
George Bercos on the 79th anniversary of his birth.
We received a nice letter from Homer Meentemeyer from Coulterville,
Illinois, informing us of the passing of his wife Loretta (Voelz) Meentemeyer
last spring. She was confirmed at St. Paul by Rev. Bartling in 1932. Homer
and Loretta were married for 58 years. They are survived by 5 children, 11
grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. We also received news of the
passing from Loretta's sister, Donata. The Voelz sisters married Meentemeyer
brothers.
We thank Col. Norbert Schmidt for the gift to our alumni fund through the
trust fund he set up on our behalf. Thanks to his generosity, St. Paul will
continue to receive an annual gift of money as long as the school is in
operation.
We are pleased to report that Dr. Len Schroeder, the chairman of St. Paul
Lutheran Church, is back worshiping with us again. Doc had been hospitalized
for much of the late spring and throughout the summer as a result of
complications after knee surgery.
