"Cripple Landy"
By Crystal Plain

A usual day for Landy was children coming around her and asking her what
was wrong with her leg. Landy was a forty year old lady with a crippled leg.
She had no children or close relative. She lived alone with her three legged
dingo, Advoactation. Landy lived in a green house on Oxford Drive. Landy's
one wish was to marry a multi-millionaire and have four kids.
Landy heard there was going to be a show to see who wanted to marry a
millionaire. Landy went to the show and signed up. Landy was certain that
she had no chance of being one of the fifty girls. At 3:00 P.M. Landy
received a call that she was picked to be one of the fifty girls. She was
filled with joy because she was picked. Landy went to J.C. Penney to buy a
dress, swim suit, and a pair of shoes.
It was the night before the show and Landy was getting ready. She put
mayonnaise on her face, cucumbers on her eyes, and polish on her fingernail
and toenails. She shaved her hairy legs and washed her hair. Landy fell
asleep and had a dream she married Bob Dole, and she had four kids name Bob,
Cob, Tom, and Cher.
The lights shined brightly in Landy's face as she said her name. Landy
was nervous as the host said the ten runner-ups. Landy was the second person
to be picked. Next, Landy had to put on her swim suit. After that Landy was
asked two questions. In the third round Landy was not picked.
Landy went to get the newspaper. The coverpage had her picture on it
saying in big Helvetica writing "Who wants to Marry A Cripple-aire?" She
was angry. Landy went down to Mr. Pigman's office. Mr. Pigman was a lawyer and a good
friend of Landy. Landy was going to sue FOX Network. FOX didn't want to go
to court, so they gave Landy a $15,000 check and wrote an apology in their
newspaper. Landy wanted one more thing, her own show.
A month later Landy got a phone call from FOX saying they would give her
request. The name of her show was called "The Cripple Landy Show." The show
was a big hit. After nine seasons the show was canceled.
